“When I lost my father, my entire family was shaken, but none were affected so deeply as my mother was. She had become completely lost without my father. When I had decided I wanted to commemorate my father for her, my first thought was to commission Jessie, my friend, and a person I knew to be of immeasurable talent, as I had seen in her previous works. I knew she was a person of great skill and dedication to her craft, and that she would be able to create a work that would be suitable for my mother’s memory.
However, I was not quite prepared for just HOW well she captured my father. The painting of him displays details of his expressions, and minor facial features that most would consider insignificant, but serve to give true life to the painting. The painting was a gift for my mother on the first Christmas we spent without my father, and I am not exaggerating when I say that this work was not just her most memorable Christmas gift, but it has also proved to be instrumental during the healing process of her mourning. She feels like my father is there beside her when she looks at the painting.

"Jessica is one of the most talented and compassionate artists i've had the pleasure of working with. When I first got our family's pictures taken professionally, of course I hung them on my wall and I loved them, but I wanted some variety, some spice to my walls other than just the pictures. I could have added some home decor, or word art, but I didn't want to take away from how excited I was to have our beautiful family displayed in one of the first houses I had enough time in to decorate and make into a home.
